If you are looking for a unique charcuterie board or simply a beautiful display piece, this is the product for you. This hard, heavy, and fine textured live edge wood polishes beautifully. The heartwood is nutty brown, interlaced with fine veins of dark brown and greenish hues. The sapwood is a base of creamy yellow with similar striping. Our California Mission Olive wood was recovered from trees that were planted in 1893 to 1895 by one of the founders of the Martinelli family. You can still find Martinelli Olives in stores today, though the family no longer owns the brand. The orchard is next to an old Olive processing plant. A squirrel put a hole into the brine pond from the processing plant which flooded the orchard killing about five percent of the trees. It was these trees we were able to recover the wood to make this amazing piece.
